Chasing a Waterfall...Fudodaki

Another Saturday, another adventure...this one was relatively short and sweet, but still something new and beautiful. We took a little drive to a waterfall near Aomori, called 不動滝 or Fudodaki. It's about 58 km (36 mi) from Misawa and took about 90 minutes to get there. It's a very peaceful little place.

GPS coordinates: 40.835904, 140.970952

Just taking in the scenery. Rice fields.
There's a small building to change in if
you're brave enough to get in the water.
See pictures below for inside of building.
I have no idea if those are community
towels or if regulars just leave them.
Straw sandals for waterfall climbing.
The best I could do without a tripod on this shot.
He liked it anyway!
Water straight from the mountain snow melt...freezing...
no way I was getting more than my feet wet!

Across from the waterfall there was a path and a torii gate so we continued our adventure, this place was really cool. Very secluded, quiet, peaceful and mostly untouched.

Each step had a number and many had other designs too.
Not sure what this was/is used for...
So serene...
#84 with moons, #85 with the sun.

I wasn't quite ready to go home so we kept driving through a few fishing villages that I always find interesting.

Piles upon piles of huge plastic fishing floats.
Driving in Japan...always on the lookout for people in the road!
